About Xago
Xago (tagline: Strategy Takes Shape) is a deceptively simple abstract strategy game with rules a five-year-old can learn, yet the strategic depth to challenge the brainiest of adults. Players take turns connecting hexagonal magnetic tiles — every side blank or marked with a triangle — scoring a point wherever two of their triangles touch. Completely surrounded tiles pop out and return to their owner, so no position is ever safe — and with a game-tree complexity of 1060, Xago is mathematically deeper than Checkers. Designed by Brooklyn-based Akshay Patil and published by Poco Games, Xago hit its Kickstarter goal in 36 hours in March 2026, finishing at 361% funded with 484 backers. It can also be played free online at playxago.com.
